The Piazza degli Artigiani will open its doors on Monday 3 June and will see chefs and producers as protagonists, creating an immediate link between two categories that cannot do without each other. We will start on June 2 with the popular Repubblica del Cibo, which will attract thousands of fans, tourists and onlookers to the streets of Vico Equense on the trail of the chefs called to cook in the squares, in the streets, in the shops of the center of Vico.
At the Stars Dinner on Monday 3, starred chefs from the most important national and international scene will participate. Their creations will give life, once again, to an unmissable and unique event of its kind, which in practice marks the beginning of summer on the Amalfi Coast. The Cammino di Seiano, instead, on the final evening of June 4th, will surprise you with its novelties and surprise guests in the splendid location of the Marina which on that occasion becomes a real "promenade" of taste. SOLIDARITY
Festa a Vico over the years has changed and has changed, but the spirit that animates the chefs who participate in it has changed, from the starred to the youngest. We meet to celebrate, precisely, but above all to contribute to solidarity projects that are financed precisely by the event. In total, Festa a Vico has already raised over one million one hundred thousand euros (270,000 euros in the last edition). For this Festival in Vico seven projects have been selected by as many Onlus to make donations.
Specifically, the non-profit organizations participating in the event are: Alts, Pro Foundation, The Shop of Simple Thoughts, We with You for the Mici, Never Give Up, Parish of San Marco Evangelista, Convent of San Vito of the Friars Minims of San Francesco da Padova (the last two will be present only on Sundays for the Food Republic). Alts - Sinergy: associate primary prevention (guided eco visits to the breast), primary prevention starting from a healthy diet (through creative cooking workshops organized by nutrition specialists).
Pro Foundation - "prevention among people": spreading information on healthy lifestyles aimed at male health and well-being thanks to the use of the Mobile Urological Unit for free visits and advice on the topic of prevention.
The Shop of Simple Thoughts - Start Catering: to create jobs and social inclusion for children with disabilities, the project aims to offer a catering service by choosing the dining room staff from the boys of the Simple Thoughts workshop assisted by a tutor. Your kit will be used (from crockery to tablecloths) and for the menu we will use qualified companies in the catering field.

San Marco Evangelista Parish - Vico Equense: renovation work on the ancient bell tower of the Sanctuary of Santa Maria Vecchia in Seiano which risks an imminent collapse due to erosion due to natural agents and post-earthquake work.

THE PREVIOUS EDITIONS
Festa a Vico 2019 is the seventeenth edition of the event that chef Gennarino Esposito designed in 2003 to bring together emerging and established chefs in the splendid location of Vico Equense. Over the years the event has evolved, almost transformed, becoming a regular event for food lovers and more. For three days the forerunner of the Sorrento coast becomes an "open-air kitchen" because the party involves everything and everyone (as many as 100 shops but also doors and gardens that are opened for the occasion). Vico is literally invaded by fans of the genre and simple tourists. In front of craft shops, shops, newsstands or pharmacies, an incredible crowd of onlookers gather to taste the dishes freshly prepared by Gennarino's guest chefs, which in turn now compete to take part in this three-day event that ranges from the popular "Repubblica del cibo" to the glamorous appointment of the "Cena delle Stelle". From Vico, countless chefs have passed, some of the most important on the national and international scene.
